MONTGOMERY – MGMWERX recently announced the appointment of new Innovation Hub Director, Joyce Vaughn.
In the three years since she joined MGMWERX, Ms. Vaughn has quickly established herself as an integral part of the company’s operations. A driven, people oriented, professional, she draws on over a decade of diverse experience to ensure that all goals are met, and the entire team feels valuable and efficient. In her new role as Director, she looks forward to leading the organization into a new era.
When asked what she hopes to achieve as Director of MGMWERX, Vaughn responded:
“I hope to further inspire and support my team so we can focus on providing exemplary service to our partner, Air University. I’m very excited about what is to come for MGMWERX!”
Since earning her MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery, Joyce has led a diverse and exemplary career. She has worked in several industries, including higher education, medical, and military innovation, giving her a complex skillset, which allows her to rise to any challenge.

As Director of MGMWERX, Ms. Vaughn will oversee administration, programs, and strategic plans. In addition to overseeing, she will also uphold fiscal integrity and the terms of the Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA), a contract between DEFENSEWERX, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), and Air University (AU) to facilitate academic and professional opportunities for furthering education and civilian collaboration.

In her free time, Ms. Vaughn can be found spending time with her family, engaging with the Downtown Montgomery community, watching her favorite shows, or working on her podcast.
MGMWERX was created under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement to align with the education initiatives of Air University. MGMWERX supports ongoing Air University programs to enhance the production of high-quality, innovative research and ideas that span issues of importance to the Air Force.
