Meet the Board of Directors
Brian Liesveld currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for DEFENSEWERX, Inc. In his capacity as CEO, Brian oversees operations and management of the DWX innovation hubs as well as executing Board of Director’s strategic vision.
Prior to his role as Chief Executive Officer, Brian served as the Vice President for the Cyber Innovation Center in Bossier City, LA. In this role, Brian oversaw the operations supporting the Air Force Global Strike Command as well as Cyber Curriculum delivered to over 3 million students across the United States.
Brian’s previous roles include the Associate Director of the Defense and Security Research Institute at the University of Arizona as well as multiple roles within the Department of Defense. Most notably, Brian spearheaded the creation of the DoDs first University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) to be established in more than 20 years.
Brian is originally from Nebraska and is married to Erin Liesveld and has two sons, Joshua and Brayden.
Teresa Harrington serves as Chief Operations Officer for DEFENSEWERX, Inc. In this role, she ensures seamless implementation and exceptional team member and government partner service across key operations, projects, and initiatives for DEFENSEWERX, its innovation hubs, and its ecosystem.
Dr. Harrington brings deep expertise in strategic and business planning, operations, research, marketing, corporate strategy, STEM policy, and economic and workforce development. Prior to joining DEFENSEWERX in 2021, she led industry relations and key revenue and operations initiatives for an award-winning Inc. 1000 Hall of Fame litigation services firm and served as Chief Executive Officer for a leading Southeastern U.S. communications and economic development consultancy. Dr. Harrington has served as a trusted advisor and in leadership roles in several notable workforce and economic development, STEM, and public policy initiatives at state, regional, and federal levels. She has presented and moderated at national industry conferences and been published in national and industry media including the National Law Review, Corporate Counsel, National Law Journal, Context Florida, and Florida Trend and has served as an award-winning podcast host and producer for national audiences in areas including commercial litigation, corporate risk, science, and tech. Dr. Harrington was awarded the Go-To Thought Leadership Award for multiple consecutive years by National Law Review for her thought leadership contributions on topics ranging from commercial risk and litigation to intellectual property and innovation.
Dr. Harrington earned a Doctor of Business Administration degree through Trevecca Nazarene University and completed her dissertation on the topic of Exploring the Factors that Inhibit and Promote Small Business Owner Engagement with Federal Innovation. She earned an MBA through the prestigious Gies College of Business at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences through Thomas Edison State University. She holds several specializations, certifications, and industry memberships and is a frequent speaker and contributor at industry conferences, panels, and thought leadership forums.
Bret Adams currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for DEFENSEWERX, Inc. In his capacity as CFO, Bret oversees the finance and account teams in support of the DWX innovation hubs and collaborates with the CEO and COO to execute on the Board of Director’s strategic vision.
Bret began his career as an auditor for PwC in New York City and GLG, the world’s largest insight network that connects decision makers with expertise. He’s held strategic, financial and operational leadership roles at private equity backed companies and startups and worked on a broad range of initiatives including financial planning and analysis, budgeting and reporting, risk management, cashflow planning, pricing and packaging, sales and operational performance management and business systems implementation.
Bret is originally from California and is the proud father of four smart, strong-willed children: Miriam, Benjamin, Clarissa and Jeremy.
Tami, DWX Senior Manager of Logistics, retired after 26 years in Supply Chain Management with two years leading Quality Assurance in the United States Air Force with extensive experience in developing, organizing, implementing, analyzing manual and automated integrated logistics systems, and developing and implementing policy directives. She has earned her BAS in Supply Chain Management and is presently pursuing her MBA in Project Management.
Joanna Gomez serves as the Controller for DEFENSEWERX. Joanna brings extensive experience as she previously served as a Business Manager with the Doolittle Institute, a DEFENSEWERX Family Innovation Hub in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory. While in the role, Joanna was responsible for bookkeeping, monitoring spending, maintaining financial records, and working with the Director to develop business forms, templates, contracts, and annual budgets.
During her career, Joanna held various roles, including Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Business Manager, and Licensed Property Manager.
Joanna received her Bachelors in Business Management and Masters in Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
Anna Beach serves as Corporate Operations Deputy for DEFENSEWERX. She helps streamline, oversee, and implement key processes and initiatives across the DEFENSEWERX organization in this role.
Anna brings nearly a decade of hands-on experience in strategic planning and project management. Anna’s career began in wedding planning, where she honed her skills in managing meticulously organized events, quickly rising to a senior position within her company. From there, she transitioned into corporate events, further refining her abilities in managing large-scale projects and orchestrating complex logistics. Further building on this foundation, Anna shifted into corporate project management and innovation, contributing her skills to MGMWERX, a former DWX Family Innovation Hub. This experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of a business’s operational and creative aspects.
Following her work with the MGMWERX innovation hub, Anna joined the DEFENSEWERX corporate headquarters team to serve in a role that combines her extensive background in strategic planning with her passion for helping others and driving corporate initiatives and innovative solutions. She is committed to ensuring that each project meets and exceeds expectations.
Anna holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management with a Focus in Event Planning and a Minor in Business Administration from Auburn University.
Kassia Finkler serves as the Corporate Accounts Payable Manager for DEFENSEWERX. She is a seasoned finance professional with diverse experiences and a strong analytical background, which enables her to contribute effectively to any financial team, drive efficiency, and support organizational goals.
Before this role, Kassia served as the Finance Director at Kino School in Tucson, Arizona, and as an Accountant Assistant for an investment company in Kaneohe, Hawaii. In these roles, she was responsible for managing comprehensive accounting tasks, including accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger (G/L) reconciliations. She assembled financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information from various sources. Kassia consistently prepared and reconciled all financial accounts monthly, created yearly budgets for business operations, and monitored these budgets closely. She collaborated effectively with executive boards to ensure economic stability and strategic planning.
Kassia received her Bachelor of Science in Core Mathematics from Purdue University and has lived in many parts of the United States, supporting her Air Force Spouse while raising her four children.
Monika Barnes serves as the HR Manager for DEFENSEWERX. Monika oversees daily human resource operations and manages critical projects related to HR policies, procedures, information systems, payroll accounting, training, and other key HR initiatives and compliance areas.
Monika has excelled in various HR roles throughout her career, including Benefits and Compensation Generalist, Recruiter, and HR Specialist, bringing diverse experience and expertise to her current position.
Monika received her BSBA in Management with a concentration in Human Resources and her MBA from the University of South Alabama. She is dedicated to continuous learning and growth in the ever-evolving HR landscape. She also values teamwork and collaboration, believing these elements are essential for a thriving workplace.
Kevin Starr serves as the Corporate IT Manager for DEFENSEWERX. He brings extensive experience from his previous role as a Systems Administrator at SOFWERX, a DEFENSEWERX Family Innovation Hub, in partnership with USSOCOM. In this role, Kevin was responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, ensuring system security, and supporting various technology initiatives. Kevin graduated from Florida State University in 2020.
Andrea is an experienced HR Generalist at DEFENSEWERX, specializing in payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and employee relations. With seven years of HR experience, including four years in the automotive industry and three years at a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) payroll company, Andrea brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.
Andrea holds the Fundamentals of Payroll Certification (FPC), underscoring their commitment to excellence in payroll management. Their comprehensive understanding of HR processes and dedication to fostering positive employee relations make them a valuable asset to DEFENSEWERX.
Stephanie is the Corporate HR Coordinator at DEFENSEWERX, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and various HR functions. She came to DEFENSEWERX with over 10 years of HR experience, including over 7 years in the public sector, and most recently, working as a recruiter for a Fortune 500 company.
Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in Management and Human Resources from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She is adept at learning new systems and processes and genuinely enjoys helping both internal and external stakeholders navigate HR processes.
Nicholas Zeller is the Technical Support Specialist for DEFENSEWERX. As the Technical Support Specialist, Nicholas provides Tier I and Tier II technical support for the entire DEFENSEWERX organization and its innovation hubs. This includes rapid incident response, networking, and application management.
Prior to joining DEFENSEWERX as a Technical Support Specialist, Nicholas held an internship position as a System Administration / IT Intern at SOFWERX, one of DEFENSEWERX’s innovation hub. After being exposed to the systems and work that the DEFNSEWERX ecosystem performs, he became increasingly involved in the organization and is now using various skills he learned during his internship to perform his duties.
Nicholas graduated with a bachelor’s degree with honors in Information Technology from the University of South Florida. He is continuing his education and professional development by pursuing various industry certificates to further develop his technical and business skills.
Mia Torres is the Financial Analyst at DEFENSEWERX, bringing experience from the security and legal industries. Through her work in financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations, she has supported strategic business goals. Mia is passionate about adopting new technologies, streamlining processes, and collaborating across teams to drive results.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of West Florida.
Sharon Berry is a Corporate Accounts Payable Specialist at DEFENSEWERX, where she uses her extensive background in financial management to help ensure smooth operations within the company’s finance team. With years of hands-on experience, Sharon has become an invaluable resource in areas like account reconciliations, cash management, and cross-department collaboration.
Before joining DEFENSEWERX, Sharon worked at Saint Jean Industries in Heber Springs, Arkansas, as both an HR Generalist and Accounting Manager. These roles gave her a well-rounded perspective, combining her expertise in accounting with a deep understanding of HR, benefits administration, and payroll. Sharon has always thrived in leadership roles, where she’s able to solve problems and streamline processes to improve team performance.
Sharon attended Southwest Tennessee Community College and is also a licensed Real Estate Agent in Arkansas. Outside of her professional work, she’s passionate about continuously learning to stay ahead in the ever-evolving world.
Talle Laule is a Corporate Accounts Payable Specialist with DEFENSEWERX, where she assists the finance team with invoice entry, credit card reconciliation, and vendor file management. Her varied work experience and diligence in streamlining processes proved an asset in her role as Accounting Specialist for Lehman-Roberts Company in Memphis, TN. The dynamic company culture of the DEFENSEWERX family has been like a homecoming for her after moving to Florida to be close to family. Talle earned her Associate of the Arts degree from Mid-South Community College and continued coursework in history at the University of Memphis. She remains a dedicated student of art, food, culture, and history.
Born in Houston and raised across Florida and Tennessee, he joined SOFWERX in 2022 as a full-stack developer, transferred to DEFENSEWERX in 2025, and has been building solutions ever since. Outside of work, he is a full-time father of three remarkable kids who keep him on his toes far more than any codebase ever will. Terry holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from St. Petersburg College and spends his free time diving into new tech or whatever nerd project refuses to let him sleep.
Bernard is the Regional Manager for the Central District of Florida Power & Light. In this role, Johnson is responsible for Customer Service, Sales and Operations, and Economic Development in the Fort Walton District, which includes Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Niceville, Crestview, DeFuniak Springs, and western Walton County. Bernard serves as a representative of Florida Power & Light on various community boards and to government officials and elected representatives. He has over 38 years of service with the power company. He began his career in the line crew and also worked in Engineering, Customer Service, and Marketing.
He currently serves as Chair of the DEFENSEWERX board of directors and is an Emeritus board member of the United Way of Okaloosa/Walton County. He serves on the Economic Development Council of Okaloosa County Executive board, is a board member for the Destin Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of the CCB Community Bank Board of Directors. Additionally, he chairs the board of directors for DEFENSEWERX and is a member of the Okaloosa Public School Foundation board.
Bernard is also a trustee member of the HCA Destin-FWB Hospital Medical Center, a Commissioner of the Fort Walton Beach Housing Authority, and is the AF Chief of Staff AFSOC & AFMC Civic Leader.
Bernard has an undergraduate and graduate degree from Troy University, has been married for 34 years, has five children, two grandchildren, and lives in Niceville, Florida.
Mr. Michael B. Gray is a Senior Financial Consultant with Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, a New York based private equity company, which works closely with management teams at portfolio companies, providing tailored insights into strategies, markets, and opportunities to help build stronger, more competitive businesses. Collaborating with investment teams throughout every phase of the investment lifecycle—from deal sourcing, due diligence, and negotiating definitive agreements to acquisition, integration, asset management, and exit.
Prior to joining Cerberus as a consultant, Mr. Gray was the Senior Director, Financial Systems and Transformation at ICF and the Senior Business Advisor/CFO for the Commander Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and the Commander and President, Air University (AU), USAF. Mr. Gray advised the AETC/AU Commander/Commander and President regarding organizational change, financial resource management, and technological innovation to enhance professional military education/training development. He provides other advice at the discretion of the AETC Commander.
Mr. Gray is an accomplished global leader with a 25+ track record in maximizing operational efficiencies and bottom-line growth across Fortune 500 companies. He is a recognized turnaround agent with success in leading service delivery for both government and commercial projects and known for his ability to mentor and develop high performing organization and next generational leaders.
Recruited to return to Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) in 2001 as Deputy Controller for the Applied Technology Group, he led business transformation to mature the business side of the $50M systems engineering and services business unit, delivering improvements across all areas of accounts receivables, accounting, budget control, facilities, contract, and compliance.
Immediately following this success, he was promoted to Vice President of Finance/ Business Unit Controller in 2004 for the Systems and Technology Solutions business unit, a $1B revenue organization within SAIC. In this role, he led the business unit through an aggressive M&A period, successfully directing the integration of people, contracts, and systems to achieve $6M+ in cost savings while increasing global labor utilization efficiency. During this time, he was instrumental in developing and mentoring future leadership talent for the company; many of whom were chosen for key positions in the newly formed SAIC company in 2013.
In 2012, he was promoted to Senior Vice President, Operations Finance, and hand-selected by the Chief Financial Officer to lead the strategic integration of resources and operations following SAIC’s decision to split in 2013. Here, he played an integral role in the company’s enterprise business transformation, positioning SAIC to achieve ~$20M in indirect cost savings.
Before returning to SAIC, Michael was the Owner/Agent for Gray Insurance and Financial Services, a Nationwide Insurance and Investment services provider, where he successfully reorganized a fragmented four-county region overseeing sales and resource management of a multi-line agency with ~3,000 policies in force. Under his leadership, the region consistently ranked in the Top 5 in a district of 30 agents, and in top 10% in the State of Tennessee in all lines of insurance and financial sales.
Councilwoman Tere’sa Hebert is the Senior Territory Manager at Exact Sciences. She moved to Destin in 2012 as the Senior Territory Manager at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. After 18 successful years, Teresa retired from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals in 2021. Before Pfizer, she served in the U.S. Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Junior Grade Officer in 2003. The Navy instilled in her values of discipline, leadership, and dedication that have helped her in all aspects of her life.
Education has played a vital role in shaping her career and personal growth. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Hawaii in 2003 and later earned a master’s in human resource management from Wayland Baptist University in 2010.
Serving as a Councilwoman for the city of Destin is both an honor and a responsibility, and she is committed to representing the community’s interests to make a positive impact.
Outside of work and public service, Tere’sa has a passion for staying active. Running, kickboxing, and paddleboarding around the beautiful waters in Destin keep her energized and focused. She finds solace in traveling, exploring new places, and immersing herself in different cultures. As a sports enthusiast, you will often find her cheering for her favorite college football teams, Auburn and LSU, as well as passionately supporting the New Orleans Saints.
Family is at the heart of everything Teresa does. She is blessed with a loving husband, Stephen, three daughters, Krystal, Deanna, and Jamie, and one son, Jonathan. She is also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, three boys, Brock, Arthur, and Callum, and two girls, Riley and Juliette. Tere’sa and her husband live with their three dogs and one cat, CJ, Tula, Sandy, and Felix on Main St in Destin, FL.

In 2025, Tim partnered with Cory Fosdyck, Jerry Brown, and Collin McCall to establish Krueger, Fosdyck, Brown, McCall & Associates (KFBMA)—an evolution of the highly regarded Krueger, Fosdyck & Associates team that operated under Merrill Lynch Wealth Management from 2006 to 2025.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tim is a passionate community advocate. He has emceed numerous charitable events in the Destin area and served as Chair of the American Cancer Society’s Cattle Barons’ Ball (2008–2009) and Chairman of the Safety & Public Works Committee for the City of Destin. Today, Tim continues to make an impact as a Trustee of the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, charter sponsor of Sinfonia Gulf Coast, and supporter of the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and Special Operators Transition Foundation. Tim also serves on the board of directors of DEFENSEWERX, the nation’s largest 501(c)(3) organization of its kind, dedicated to enabling agile innovation for government partners through a network of innovation hubs across the country.
Recognition & Honors:
Garry Haase currently serves as a Director for Advanced Programs with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems in Niceville, FL. He further supports multiple company lines of business as an Air Force weapons subject matter expert. He leads strategic business and technology development by overseeing multi-functional program and engineering teams to capture new business, maintain existing business efforts, and mature technology capabilities through internal research and development. He cultivates stakeholder relationships and strategic alliances with government, industry, and community leaders.
Garry joined General Dynamics in January 2022, after a 27-year active-duty Air Force career. He served in various engineering and technical and program management leadership positions across multiple locations spanning areas such as technical intelligence, electronic warfare, modeling and simulation, space launch, ground and flight test, and advanced research and development for aircraft and weapons culminating as the Director of Air Force Research Laboratory’s Munitions Directorate at Eglin AFB, FL. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Missouri S&T as well as master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Wright State University and systems engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
Mr. Spencer Baker most recently served as the Director, Acquisition Agility, for the US Special Operations Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Center. He led aggressive efforts to enable the rapid transition of emerging and game changing technologies and innovative solutions to Special Operations Forces through agile acquisition pathways such as SOFWERX, and Workforce Professional Development including directing the Joint Special Operations University, Introduction to SOF Acquisition Course (ISOAC).
These efforts also included outreach, collaboration, rapid prototyping and experimentation with non-traditional small business, academia, inter agency partners, government labs, and other entities.
Mr. Baker previously served as the Division Chief for Product Support Management in the USSOCOM J4. He was responsible for verification of sustainable requirements, guiding SOF sustainment strategy, and leading fifteen Lifecycle Logisticians through the effective planning and execution of acquisition logistics functions of for all special operations forces equipment.
His additional, previous acquisition assignments include Lead Lifecycle Logistician for PEO-Maritime, USSOCOM, SOF AT&L, Director of Rotary Wing Contracts for Navy and Marine Corps assault helicopters and tilt-rotor aircraft, NAVSUP WSS, Philadelphia, and Contracts Specialist, H-60 SEAHAWK Program, NAVAIR.
Mr. Baker is an MBA graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School, and the Kennan Flagler Business School Advanced Course for Logistics and Technology, UNC Chapel Hill, and the DoD Executive Product Support Manager Course. He has been a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps since 2010, and holds a DAWIA Level III certification in Contracting, with experience in Weapons System Program Management and Product Support Management.
Mr. Baker lives with his five children, Reilly, Easton, Camelia, Duncan and Reece. He volunteers with Team Red White and Blue, and numerous other Tampa area non-profit organizations.
Dr. John S. Wilcox is currently the Vice President for Advanced Programs & Technology for Northrop Grumman. He is a retired member of the Senior Executive Service. His last assignment, before retiring after 36 years of combined military and federal service, was as Director of Munitions at the Air Force Research Laboratory, located at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. In this capacity, he assisted the Commander of AFRL in strategic science and technology (S&T) investment planning across the technology directorates. He also led the combat air forces’ future weapons technology planning and execution at the Munitions Directorate, providing programmatic and technical guidance to a staff of more than 500 scientists and engineers developing air-launched conventional munitions technology. The activities of the Munitions Directorate include research on missile seekers, precision guidance, navigation and control, image processing, munitions integration, warheads, fuzing, explosives, and technology assessment methodology. Before this assignment, Dr. Wilcox served as the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Precision Engagement from 2002 to 2009.
Before his career in civilian service, Dr. Wilcox was a Colonel in the United States Air Force and retired after 24 years of active duty, before beginning his civilian career. He began his operational flying career in the F-111 and went on to fly the Royal Air Force and German Tornado and F-4, and F-15E fighter aircraft. He is a graduate and instructor at the United States Air Force Fighter Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. He commanded the 28th Test Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base and was the Chief of Advanced Air Supremacy while assigned to the Directorate of Requirements at Headquarters, Air Combat Command. While assigned to the Pentagon, he served as the Senior Military Assistant for Airpower in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics. His most recent assignment at the Pentagon was as the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Precision Engagement and Director of the Joint Capability Technology Demonstration Program. During Operation DESERT STORM, Dr. Wilcox served on the Targeting Team for the strategic air campaign and was the Chief, Time Sensitive Targeting, for Operation ENDURING FREEDOM while assigned to Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. He also served as the Director for Night Fist operations in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and the Global War on Terrorism. Dr. Wilcox was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in 2002 and was awarded the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Executive by the President of the United States in 2015, prior to his retirement from the DoD.
As Chief Academic Officer for Mississippi State University, David Shaw oversees development and implementation of the university’s strategic vision, the integrity of the academic mission, and academic operations of Mississippi’s leading research university and land-grant institution. He provides direct oversight for nine academic colleges and three campuses, including the engineering partnership with Gulf Coast Community College, as well as many academic and non-academic support units. A longtime faculty member and former vice president for research and economic development at MSU, he works with the President’s Cabinet to oversee all aspects of the mission of MSU. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Cameron University in Oklahoma and a master’s and doctorate from Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Shaw joined the Mississippi State faculty as an assistant professor in 1985, with a joint teaching and research appointment. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses, and earned praise for his classroom teaching, graduate advising, publishing and ability to secure grant funding. Dr. Shaw has earned over 20 awards for his teaching, research and service. He also played an active role in the Robert Holland Faculty Senate, and in 1999, he was recognized as a William L. Giles Distinguished Professor, the university’s highest honorary distinction. He has advised and mentored numerous undergraduate and graduate students over his career. More than 20 of his Ph.D. students have become university faculty or government research scientists – helping to train a new generation. Others have served in leadership positions in industry or started their own businesses. He considers his students’ success among his most significant – and rewarding – contributions.
During his tenure as the university’s chief research officer, Mississippi State attained Carnegie Foundation R1-Very High Research Activity Doctoral University status and consistently ranked among the National Science Foundation’s top 100 research institutions. The university’s research expenditures totaled over $250 million in FY 2019, accounting for more than half of the total in research and development expenditures reported by all Mississippi institutions. Dr. Shaw oversaw a substantial expansion of the university’s international programs, with numerous partnerships in food security, aquaculture, crop production, outreach, and joint academic programs. He also worked closely with local, state, and regional economic development officials to recruit new companies to the state. Dr. Shaw previously served as the founding director of the Northern Gulf Institute, a NOAA Cooperative Institute. He also was founding director of the Geosystems Research Institute at MSU, a research and outreach institute focused on spatial technology visualization of complex datasets and computational modeling in agriculture, forestry, water resources, climate, weather and oceanography.
Dr. Shaw is a fellow of the Weed Science Society and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2017, the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program selected him for its prestigious U.S.-France International Education Administrators Program. Dr. Shaw served on the board, and chaired the budget committee, for the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative, overseeing $500M in funding provided by BP Corp in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He recently completed a six-year appointment to the Environmental Protection Agency’s Pesticide Program Dialog Committee, one of the leading advisory boards for EPA. He also recently completed his second term as General Secretary for the American Geophysical Union, serving as the budget chair for this 60,000 member organization.
Dr. Shaw and his wife Sherri are parents of two children and four grandchildren.
